Vintage Holiday Bell Hack Under $5

I love a vintage-style Christmas. This year, I wanted to kick it up a notch and bring more of an old world, Victorian-style to my holiday decor. One of the elements I knew I wanted to incorporate where lots of bells.
Brass bells bring warmth and movement to your holiday decor. There is just something nostalgic and charming about a collection of hanging brass bells for the holidays.
While nothing can replace the character of an authentic vintage or antique brass bell, these pieces can be difficult to come by, and when you need a lot to complete a look, they can add up quick.
These popular large rustic bells bring charm and vintage character, but I wanted something a little bit more delicate and refined for the Victorian look I was going for this year.
Last year I purchased bells similar to these small craft bells to add to my tree and tablescape. While I plan to still incorporate these again this year, they are just a little too rustic for what I envisioned pairing with my velvet trimmings and garland this year.
This vintage bell hack is something I used last year in my moody and vintage inspired holiday decorating.

I loved the way these turned out last year, and as soon as I pulled these bells out of my holiday bin this year, I knew that they would be perfect for what I needed, so I decided to create them again. The best part, you can create this look for under $5!
5 easy Steps:
Cut all of the bells off the wire stems. I used needle nose pliers for this part. Be sure to remove all the wire.
Measure the amount of cord you need for each bell. You will cut only two pieces of cord, and fold them over. I found it easiest to hold the cord up next to my garland and ribbon, fold it over, and stagger the length of the two ends until I was happy with the way each piece was hanging. Repeat for the second cord.
Once you have the two cords folded over, with the four pieces staggered at the lengths you want for each hanging bell, tie the two pieces together with a knot towards the top, leaving a small loop on the end for hanging.
Tie each bell onto the end of each cord and cut off the extra cord.
Hang, layer, and enjoy!
I love the look of pairing these bells with pieces of velvet ribbon and garland. Using cable ties is a great way to hold each element together and secure it to the garland.
